Hand printed/painted Saree and Blouse
Hand prints like Block, Ajrakh, Batik are very traditional and old techniques of printing. These days they are quite in vogue be it in sarees or blouses. You can mix and match prints and motifs for a stylish look.

Sharara and Gharara For Party Nights
Stylish sharara and its glamorous cousin gharara are making a big comeback in the world of fashion! The two styles are spotted on runways and even Bollywood celebrities are seen flaunting the trend. With flattering silhouettes and feminine cuts, the voguish duo embodies sassiness and are back to take the ethnic fashion world by storm.

Statement Sleeves
This season, it’s all about statement sleeves. As the frills and ruffles trend are in full bloom and we cannot get over it we have added it to classic saree blouses. A well placed ruffle or a frill on a saree blouse can be an effortless statement and may even avoid the need for accessorizing. The frill sleeves trend can be styled on literally every kind of saree. Be it a fancy designer saree or a traditional kanjeevaram saree, the frilled or ruffled sleeve pattern is sure to blend with every style.

Traditional Silks

The classic silhouettes and fabrics have stood the test of time. Age old sarees like benarasi, chanderi, kanjeevaram, jamdani or bandhni are perfect to be handed over generations. We often see the classic saree play muse to designers like Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Gaurang Shah, Ayush Kejriwal etc. Thanks to projects like Mahanati or Made In Heaven which has revived huge demand for this classic pieces.

I have known myself to be a very conservative saree lover who doesn't want to experiment much with her saree styles. But pushing my boundaries and getting out of my comfort zone, has given me immense self-confidence and excitement. Thus now a days I look forward for opportunities to try out newer styles and drapes. Recently had seen Sonam and Rhea Kapoor flaunting casual palazzo sarees from their brand Rheason. I absolutely adored the looks which were edgy, stylish yet effortless. To me it is an eclectic mix of style & sass while keeping it wearable! The palazzo saree is a boon if you’re mostly awkward in drapes but love a good offbeat outfit for a casual Friday to work or when you just want to be extra ğŸ˜‰ So it was about time I recreated a similar outfit from a favorite pair of printed silk palazzo and a long dupatta.

So here it is! A DIY trendy palazzo saree to be styled at a party or a casual night. I paired it with a white turtle neck crop top from H&M and a green belt to give that pop of color. Accessorized the look with a heavy tribal necklace, my favorite Fossil watch and a grungy boot.

Currently am loving this new trend of revolutionizing saree drapes and style. Let these new fusion wears coexist happily with our classic traditional six yards. So get out of your comfort zone and try out something which you would never have.

An afternoon of celebrations with friends called for this rarely worn favorite possession. My beloved Swarnachuri saree. It was chosen and gifted by Ma many years ago. Haven’t got many apt opportunities to adorn this beauty for long. Thus the perfect weather and traditional rice ceremony of a munchkin presented the absolutely perfect occasion to embrace this prized piece from my wardrobe.

The saree is of a stunning cross purple color with intricately woven stories of Ramayan with golden zari. Matched the traditional saree with a rather outrageous deep cut, bow back, sleeveless blouse. The kundan necklace I stole from sanchita🤪 came to the rescue for the perfect glamorous outfit. Paired a matching kundan oversized ring, a kangan, my loyal golden potli bag, a tiny bindi, straight hair and muted lips... taaadaaaa!!

If you are confused how the Swarnachuri and Baluchari are different... here’s the simplest distinction Baluchari Sarees are decorated with Resham threads, whereas Swarnachuri sarees are weaved with Golden or Silver zari. The sarees are usually made of Pure silk. It features intricate designs telling mythological stories depicted on walls of temples.
