What We Wore : Durga Puja 2018

Subho Bijoya! Hope you all had a wonderful Durga Puja / Navratri. Durga Puja means an epic extravaganza of food, fashion and celebration. Its the only time of the year we can change outfits like being on a live fashion show and we took the full opportunity to do the same. Apart from the looks in our  Durga Puja Lookbook we had quite a few few that we donned this year. Here's what we short listed from the innumerable pics we took and we are happy to share them with you. Let us know with your lovely comments how you liked our lookbook.

Look 1

I, Moumita wore this half n half blue and creme colored  saree with velvet off shoulder croptop for evening cultural concert. Skipped the neck piece and opted for a heavy kundan earring.

Look 2

Sanchita went for a  Durga Puja special dinner with friends and wore this Blue-green raw silk wonder. It has very intricate Chakra weaving on border which makes the saree even more appealing. The green Sleeveless blouse and statement earrings rounded up this smart look.

Look 3

This look is y fav, got this blue silk saree with golden temple border and plain body as a gift couple of days before puja. I reallywanted to drape this one but couldn't find a suitable blouse for it. So here comes my old hand embroidered Jacket Kurta to my rescue. Styled it with big chandelier chandbaalis, dark lips and a tiny bindi. The kurta and the drape gave a real facelift to the simple traditional saree.

Look 4

The last look is for the special ritual called Sindoor Khela where the married women bids the devi goodbye by putting vermillon on her and treating her with some sweets. Sanchita wore this red block printed silk for the occassion. Instead of customary red bordered white saree this red with white block prints worked very well.  She just wore simple gold jewelry for a simpler look.

Hope you enjoyed what we wore during navratri and if you like the post please do like, comment and share it. Your words of encouragement keeps us going. Please do follow us on  Facebook and Instagram for latest updates on the blog. Stay tuned for more festive posts this season!
