An Afternoon to Celebrate in Beloved Swarnachuri

An afternoon of celebrations with friends called for this rarely worn favorite possession. My beloved Swarnachuri saree. It was chosen and gifted by Ma many years ago. Haven’t got many apt opportunities to adorn this beauty for long. Thus the perfect weather and traditional rice ceremony of a munchkin presented the absolutely perfect occasion to embrace this prized piece from my wardrobe.

The saree is of a stunning cross purple color with intricately woven stories of Ramayan with golden zari. Matched the traditional saree with a rather outrageous deep cut, bow back, sleeveless blouse. The kundan necklace I stole from sanchita🤪 came to the rescue for the perfect glamorous outfit. Paired a matching kundan oversized ring, a kangan, my loyal golden potli bag, a tiny bindi, straight hair and muted lips... taaadaaaa!!

If you are confused how the Swarnachuri and Baluchari are different... here’s the simplest distinction Baluchari Sarees are decorated with Resham threads, whereas Swarnachuri sarees are weaved with Golden or Silver zari. The sarees are usually made of Pure silk. It features intricate designs telling mythological stories depicted on walls of temples.
